Coolant dripping

Post by Ghostrider I »

Right,

86 GTV 6, coolant is dripping from behind glove box. Started recently, no indication of overheating as per the water temperature gauge.

Thoughts?

Fracture or other failure of the heater hoses behind the glove box area ?? Loose hose connections of same?? Minor pin hole causing a spray top that area ??

If it is not coolant but just water, it is condensate from the TX valve area of the air con gas lines that has lost the insulation wrap to prevent condensation forming there.

Speaking of coolant, I hope you put anti freeze and your race car engines MD, seeing how chilly it’s been in Queensland.

Hey Big Guy,
Yes indeed there is a distilled water and inhibitor in my coolant. No anti freeze but it doesn't need it. I think ethyl glycol is banned on the track anyway. What it has got is a refreshed sheit hot livery. Must get a photo of it up. I 'll work on that soon.

It would nice to know if Ghostrider I has actually got the problem fixed..
