This is definitely bling only, serves no real purpose. Besides M7 is not cheap, and if you're replacing them, why not get something that looks good. Only thing is I heard Ti is quite soft, but since this is for the cam covers only, it should be ok if it's soft. I'd rather strip the M7 allen bolt than the thread in the head.

not sure on the early cars but i have M7 x 1.0 @ 40mm on my cam covers and the ti bolts are £5.70 here in the uk..
went A4 stainless in the end
