Re: introducing myself
hi kevin,
i am not going to use a spacer,i have one from this block with the 2,5 flywheel.
i am going to use a standard 3,0 flywheel.
i think i won't need one
don't have a picture from the headgasket just now

Re: introducing myself
The spacer I am referring is between sump pan and sump as the gta block has a chain driven oil pump which sits 16mm deeper. Will send you pic as promised
Re: introducing myself
Marc,
Go with the JK build. He said his mechanic has some M3 grind cams. Requires a little bit of head work, or at least go with his clio cams, 3.2L, and maybe 11:1 compression (thinner head gaskets, I think Autolusso.co.uk has the design for these)? That's a 300 bhp engine right there.
or....
stock 3.0 24V and get the car running reliably. Then add a Rotrex
. At least the engine will have pretty much all stock components, no custom work needed if something breaks.

Re: introducing myself
@evo75: have you ever done such modifications to your car?
i paid my car twice with this engine and end up with nothing!
i will take a standard gta engine with standard cams, finally i can drive to our yearly meetings with my sz

Re: introducing myself
Never Marc, never
. But I keep on buying all sorts of 24v parts that end up in storage
. One day it will all be put together.
And any modification I will only do it to my race car, even if it blows up...welll...it's a race car.
But stock GTA engine is already very good. Stephan told me he can make my 164 Super 24V have 265 bhp with GTA cams, good exhaust and his chip. Stock GTA with all that, 280 bhp? Still good in my book.

Re: introducing myself
GTA engine will give 300 hp with good ecu
Re: introducing myself
That's so $hit man. I understand Barry knows knows his stuff - question, did he recommend an ECU and provide software?
I know nothing of the "professional" tuning scene and surprised you had so many problems.

Re: introducing myself
Finally the car is ready!the engine is a standard gta engine with bigger (Greg Gordon) injectors and adaptronic ecu
Gives 300 horses and 330 Nm.
I'll pick it up next week

Re: introducing myself
Wow!!! Beautiful and powerful.
I'm guessing on your tuner's dyno, with 11.2:1 compression, 10mm cams, long tube headers and bellmouthed modified plenum, Autronic SMC, I can expect 330 bhp?
E46 M3 = roast.

Re: introducing myself
US M3 right? Some lame spec? The EU E46 has about 10% mor power and RWD...75evo wrote:Wow!!! Beautiful and powerful.

Re: introducing myself
It's about the same for the e46, 333 bhp vs 343 bhp. The us e36 m3 is more like a 330i. The e90 is the same for both markets.
I tested my 75 against a an evo X with sse gearbox. he has an AMS stage 2 flash, intake and exhaust. On the straight he said we are almost even. But I feel the evo still has a massive low end torque advantage. But once past 100 kmh the torque difference doesnt seem that great anymore.

Re: introducing myself
Don't forget the Evo has massive drivetrain-losses due to the awd system...
The advantage of the awd system shows in a short sprint where you have superb traction but after traction is found it becomes a handicap.
@Marc;
Very nice result!
