Re: Back again...
not really - the slightly bigger rolling diameter of the 225/45/17s might stop me scraping the front lip... but i'm planning on knocking some ride height out of the tail to get some more clearance.GTV27 wrote:hope new house has a more alfa friendly driveway!

Re: Back again...
yeah - thought they sounded a bit taller. I run 205/45 17 and would like to go to a 215/45 but don't think they are going to fit on the front without some massaging of inner guard and spoiler - heaps of room on the back though and might go 225/45 to bulk out the guards and up my gearing a bit.

Re: Back again...
Argh. bought a pair of 166 front callipers for $100AUD... 147GTA/156GTA/GTV6 rotors apparently drop straight on... I'm not sure I really need to put a big brake kit on this thing... do I?

Re: Back again...
yeah, sure, why not? you have to replace rotors at some stage anyhow, its really just accelerated maintenance, which is good, isn't it?

Re: Back again...
V6 calipers? The humongous ones? Why would you even consider putting them on a 269mm disc? The 166 V6 discs are dia 310mm and 28mm thick, pretty silly pad fit on a 269x22mm disc.la_strega_nera wrote:Argh. bought a pair of 166 front callipers for $100AUD... 147GTA/156GTA/GTV6 rotors apparently drop straight on... Not sure they even fit in a 15" rim on its largest inside diameter... They are incredibly large! (Much larger then a 156 GTA caliper)

Re: Back again...
I think he meant gtv v6 - not gtv6, otherwise it doesn't make sense.

Re: Back again...
Yeah, I meant GTV V6... the 305x28mm rotors look like they'll drop straight onto the 164 hubs - and I wouldn't be able to put the factory wheels back on unless i turned the rotor down to 290-ish mm (but with 17s it'd be fine)
The 24valve 164s got a thicker rotor, but it'd still be a bit light on for the 166 caliper (which I thought was the same as the 156GTA/147GTA caliper).
Stupid thing is I have maybe 5,000km on a new set of rotors and pads...
Still, $100AUD for a pair of quality 4 piston calipers, couldn't pass them up.

Re: Back again...
I have a set laying around too, for the same reason...
The plan was to bolt them onto the 155 and use a suiting disc. The calipers are probably a good 50mm longer then the GTA units, bolt spacing is huge, very good, means it's easy to find a bolt position that doesn't interfere with the stock spindle.

Re: Back again...
I put one of mine in a 15" rim the other day and took a pic. Looked "quite tight"...
I'll upload tonight (UTC).
