SZ Uniball question!
Hey Guys
anyone fitted the SZ Uniball on early alfetta\gtv\gtv6 models ? I know the late models de dion bushing wich also includes Milano 75 cars is taller then the one used in early alfetta's or GTV6, If anyone here done it with the early type of cars pleas let us know how.
I tought about cutting the spacers a bit, to shorten them.
BTW - I can also use for and against opinions about using the Uniball.

I have one on my -77 GTV so it can be done, not sure if there is any actual differences in the de-Dion tube, I don't think there is.
For a street-car I cannot find ANY logical reason for fitting a steel bearing rather then a poly bushing, I have the poly bushing on my 75 and it is VERY good.
The rattle from the bearing is almost as loud as the engine in the GTV... But this is a race car so it is practically a perfect resonance chamber.

The SZ uniball works very well on a street car. By itself it doesn't make any noise, it just transmits the noise from driveline problems into the chassis. In other words if you have bad CV joints, wheel bearings etc you will hear it. However if all of that stuff is good it's perfectly quiet. I just drove my dad's car with the uniball in it the other day. It's still quiet after 120,000 miles. I have the poly bushing in my car and it's good too.
Thanks to all of you.
Mats! the old de dion bushing is shorter then the one used on late GTV and MILANO, did you do it yourself ? do you remember how you fitted it to your 77 GTV ?
and a question to all of you, Do you know a good cheap surce to buy this Uniball kit? I know International auto parts sell those but they asking too much.

SZ uniball
I found it was cheaper to "outsource" the Uniball spherical bearing, and get the remainder of the parts from somebody that orders them direct from Alfa (DiFatta, Jon Norman, etc.).
Some places want over $100 US for the bearing alone. This is a $40 part (maybe less!).
