New Alfa Owner
Greetings all and Merry Christmas!
Look what followed me home! Local car, one family, two owners, 80,000mi. Needs some TLC but seems like a good base car to start with.
Any other owners here on the Central Coast (CA)?

Yes, a very merry Christmas!MD wrote:Obviously a Merry Christmas around your pad !! Congrats.
Nice looking Volvo. haha.
The Volvo is the daily driver and one of two Volvo turbos I own. The 740 is going to have to go to make room for the Alfa and I'm not the least bit happy about it. I've never owned a more reliable, comfortable and fast freeway hauler than this car.

Don't know about the interior, when I bought the car I was told that red with tan leather was a factory option in '85...and that 3 of the 4 GTVs in the area are red with tan leather.patzo_3l wrote:is that interior a standard option in the u.s? havent seen standard leather in a gtv over here before.

Worked on the car a bit this weekend; replaced the dead hatch strut, MUCH better now and cleaned up the engine bay. I was able to replace a few of the original hoses, the car seems to run slightly better for it.

Updates
I've been upgrading the car as time and money allow. First to go were the Speedline wheels, replaced with these,

Update cont.
Then in the last week I upgraded the DOT headlights to Cibie lamps along with new wiring and relays, and added a new steering wheel and shift knob. The wheel and shifter weren't necessary , but go a long way towards improving the "feel" of the car.
