The rods are new 3.2, cost me 580Euros last year. The simulator software places peak xxxhp at ~6700rpm (XXL runners and CSC). I don't want to quote power figures for obvious reasons but suffice it to say that I wouldn't believe the Motronic cams can deliver that much; we'll see. I estimate mapping+dyno around October, after having done about 2000km with the new engine.

I have completed the first 3liter 12v stage (Motronic cams) with dyno results. I now need the serious cams for new dyno tests and that will complete the 12v engine. When will I have the cams...???
Then, its 24v time, 3liter to be precise. So, no predictions....I do want to get this out of the way, believe me! All I can do is apologize for the delay but this doesn't mean anything to anyone, its academic.

Why do you think Jim knows exactly when the new book will be out? Don't you think the date would be posted in HUGE RED LETTERS ALL OVER THIS SITE if we/Jim knew?

Can you believe it !! The man's a genious..or something...

We have to include Greg when we e-mail and take the piss with one another!!Greg Gordon wrote:The book is a masterpiece. It's well researched, and well written. The hold up seems to be the fact that the author has to fund the purchasing and testing of every part and every combintation of parts involved. This is very expensive and time consuming.
Greg,Were continually ragging ol Jim about some or another thing...and promptly get hit with a barrage of insults, hey MD??Mats?Micke?
Greg,Its all tongue in cheek stuff here...
On a serious note,Greg`s dead right here...I for one cannot wait for a copy...

Yeow..! A guy takes a few days off the site and you all grow fangs! A fine distinguished bunch you are...not worthy of driving an M3!!
Like Greg says its finances that dictate the pace of progress, as well as delays from suppliers. I've been waiting for two sets of cams; they should both be here end of last month in which case I would finally close the 12v section with one last map+dyno, but, it hasn't happened. Believe me, I wanna get this book out of the way to find free time for the 75Turbo we plan to race. I realize now I should have done the book without notice to anyone, in my own good time. That way, I wouldn't be pressed for time and would only come forth with a finished book. It would also save everyone's anticipation, but things didn't work out like that.
I realize that at the rate this is going, many of you will be reading your newly received V6 book in a rocking chair with a magnifying glass and your grandkids whizzing around in anti-gravity skateboards, invented and powered by BMW, hahah!
Go on guys, take yer best shots....but aim for the Ring during the weekend!
