Zamani,
Not sure. I need to check but it does look like a huge unit. Can you tell from a picture? I will take one for you tomorrow morning.
Guys,
Any leads for headers as I am thinking of gettting a pair. The ones on the engine looks pretty small and tatty. Would headers for the 12V fit?

Hey Guys!
Got started with the fan rebuild last night. Not much to report but few pics. Got the radiator out and started fitting the fan onto it.
Also gave the frame some new paint...
Did not quite finnish, but got a bit on the way. Will keep you posted.

Hey guys!
Long time no posting. Anyway, some things has happened since last. I´ve bought headers from Glenwood (through JJ) both to this car and to the 75 track car.
I´m at the moment in progres of building the "down pipes". I´m making them of 2,5" 90 degree bends. Pretty big, but with a snug fit it´ll work fine. The old original pipes and mufflers/detonation dampers(?) are replaced by 2,5" pipes back to the flexpipes.
I don´t have all of the pics here with me, but I´ll post the rest later on.

Why what?
I just wanted to get rid of the original cast iron manifolds and open up the exhaust a bit. This is not a "I´m tweeking 1200bhb out of my 23 year old car"-thread.
I just put a 3.0 in it and posted some pics along the way for those interested. Its not a race car, its my summer driver.

Exhaust systems are usually designed with a specific performance in mind. Torque bands, horsepower at specific rpm's. It is not necessarily the case that "some's good, more's better" All depends where you want the torque to develop and for what application street or race. There is a huge difference between the two.
You may care to look into the effects of small bore versus big bore on naturally aspirated engines and if you are still happy with what is going down. Well, at least you will be working towards a goal rather than just what seemed "like a good idea at the time."
From my undertanding, I beleive you will experience inferior bottom end torque which is important for street use. If on the other hand this is not important for you and you want more power at the top, there may be a small gain. I'm no expert, just prompting you into defining what you want and then going for it in a way that it will deliver your expectations.

MD: It's a QV engine from a 164, the 2.5 116 manifolds is not really designed to match that. ES30 Headers would probably be better but they are very expensive, not sure you could even find a set if you wanted.
