Hi guys!

I bought my 86 GTV6 for about 6 weeks ago.
I also have a Alfa Romeo 156 Sportwagon as a every day car.

The GTV6 has been sitting in a garage for the last 12 years, so I thought it was about time to bring it back to life

The car has 67000km on the clock, and I think that is correct.
The car was only driven for 7 years before it was put away, so 167000km seems unlikely. I'm trying to reach one of the previous owners in order to verify to low milage.

Specs:
*2.5 V6
*Hotter cams (trying to figure out specs)
*CSC performance headers
*Ansa middle and rear exhaust (Stebro rear is ordered)
*Greg Gordon's Ultimate Air Intake (will write review after some more testing)
*Yellow Koni shocks
*Lowered with MT stage-1 springs (40mm)
*Vacum-hoses replaced with silicon hoses from Greg Gordon.
*New steering rack with 2.2 turns lock-to-lock

The 15" Compomotive looks OK on the car, and suit the 80's design well.
The tires are 195/50-15 which is way to small, making the car look a little high. 225/50-15 would look so much better, but i'm not sure if I should buy new tires, or find some really good looking 16" or 17" rims.

The engine needs some fine tuning, as it runs a little rich.
I also need to upgrade the brakes, anti-roll bar, steering rack and so on.
I expect all the bushings needs replacing after not being used for 12 years as well.
Still plenty of things to spend money ond

Believe it or not, I've actually used something called "Owatrol rust oil" on all the plastic details. I got a tip from a fellow Norwegian Alfisti.

I applied the rust oil in a thin layer using a small sponge. Let it dry/get dust proof for 24hours, and the result is sensational!

I've just done this a week ago, so I can't tell have it will look after a couple of months though... According to the guy who gave me the tip, the shine will last about 2 months, then you need to re-apply.

If your bumpers/plastic details are in good condition, the end result will be even better. My bumpers was grey and "dry", since the car had been standing without attention for the last 12 years.

I've finally managed to get the car to run properly(not overflowing).

I've done some adjusting according to Greg Gordons L-Jet guide and bought new plugs, new Castrol 10/60 racing oil.

I've fitted the CSC headers, bought new CSC middle section and mounted the Stebro rear-box. Sound is great, but could always be a little louder

From about 4500rpm it really flies, but according to my tacho the fun ends at about 5800rpm. Either is my tacho incorrect (not likely??), or the previous owner have reduced the rev-limit.... I'll try fiddling with the rev-limiter during the winter. I reckon 6400rpm should be ok, as the engine seems to have some punch at high rpm's...

It feels like Greg Gordons Air intake-kit makes a difference at high rpm's, but its hard to tell as the car didn't run as it should before I mounted it...

I'm looking for some new wheels, but I'm not sure which to get. All the nice wheels are too expensive (BBS RS, SZ "Replica", Compomotive TS, Compomotive CXN)

I think the Simmons OM-series looked good.

No one is selling Simmons wheels in Norway or Europe, do you have any idea of the price of the OM wheels in 17x8/17x9?

Yeah.... not cheap- about 620AUD a wheel... for 17s I think

In whatever offset width combo you specify...

Z... to tell you the truth- I dont really know!

Its def. something about that three piece design- and being a fairly simple centre design, they aren't all bling so as to detract from the look of the car... which is a must for me- i hate bling. like the time I raced the s2000 with 19" chrome wheels... ahhh that was satisfying!

and then there's the motorsport cred- I reckon if you want that Euro tourer look, then Simmons are about as good as it gets- deep dished rears, semi-dished fronts, nice red calipers hiding behind it all... it just screams touring car... and I love it.

Ah.. Simmons.. Splendiferous . Mmm. Lipsmacking. Some wheels just reek quality and Simmons do just that.

..Simmons are so good they would look fabulous even on a sanitary cart.

I raced the s2000 with 19" chrome wheels

If it doesn't run - CHROME IT

On the other hand, I did a 24h race with a S2000 and the engine is even better than a GT3 (not even mentioning Alphas here)

I've finally found some nice set of wheels, looking forward to fitting these in the spring:

The rims are Keskin KT4 "New Racer".

Fronts are 8x17" ET35
Rear are 9x17 ET35
