Ivar Olafsen, #66 Alfa 75 2.8 V6 Compressore
Hi!
I am 1968-model Norwegian, living in a town called Sandefjord, approx. 100 km southwest of Oslo.
I have had Italian cars since i started driving, and somehow fell in love with the transaxle Alfa`s. I`ve had Alfa 75 2.0, 1.8 Turbo, and a 3.0 V6 Qv.
In 2009 me and a friend bought a Alfa 75 3.0 V6 which was already running in a race-series in Norway called Corsa Italiana. We shared this car in the 2010-season, and won our class (class 3), and ended up 3. overall. Nice debute!
My friend pulled out of the racing, and I drove the car alone in 2011,2012 and 2013. (also class 3)
For the 2012-season the car was upgraded very sucessfully. I won 10 out of 10 races. Won my class, and was also no.1 overall.
Picture of the #38 Alfa 75 3.0 V6:
In 2013 I also won my class, and ended up 2. overall.
And THEN: In august 2013, Hans Bjurman, one of the quickest drivers and best car-builders in the Swedish Club Alfa Romeo-challenge-series, wanted to sell his #66 Alfa 75 2.8 V6 Compressore.
As soon as I saw the ad I contacted him, and a few days later the deal was done. I was to be the new owner of this beast!
The deal was done in mid september 2013, and I wanted to drive this new car in the last two races of 2013, at a track called Rudskogen in Norway. (Nice track designed and built by Tilke)
Hans Bjurman and Jens Roos (another quick Swede) came to Norway to play with us Norwegians. Hans drove my old car, and was also there to assist in case there would be some technical glitches with #66. (Not all sellers of cars offer this kind of service!)
Now it was time to fight with the guys in Class 1!
My goal was to be the first in our series to get a laptime below 1.40 (laprecord was 1.40.5), and I did it!
Took Pole with 1.37.7, and lowered it further with a laptime of 1.37.124 in the first race!
What an engine, handling, steering etc!!! I loved it!

The car is now under preparations for the 2014-season, and i will post pictures of it when it is race-ready!

Like the video . Good to see the Ferraris in your review mirror . Out of interest what do you estimate the hp to be . Not looking for exacts but seems amazingly fast or is that just your driving

The car is quite quick, and the driver is not so bad!
It has aprox. 370 hp. on the engine.
And with the relatively low weight (1050kg included the 82 kg driver and 22 liters of fuel),
and close ratio gearbox it accelerates hard up to its topspeed of 222 km/h @ 7000rpm in 5th gear.

Hi Ivar,
Welcome to this forum and thanks for joining. I really enjoy watching your car scream around the track. It has a few parts from my shop in it, which makes me proud. I have been an advocate of supercharging these things for a long time.

That is one fantastic looking car! I'm really curious about the floor of the car and the diffuser. The front quarter panels and the skirts look good too, I like the idea of it. Looking forward to more pictures.

I would also like to hear about the number 10 Alfa 75 and the M3, both seem very fast as well.
Re: Ivar Olafsen, #66 Alfa 75 2.8 V6 Compressore
Lastly, you say it has 370 supercharged horsepower, is that on stock transaxle by any chance ?
Re: Ivar Olafsen, #66 Alfa 75 2.8 V6 Compressore
Nice... welcome...... Now the question... what Box does it use?.. Stock?
Re: Ivar Olafsen, #66 Alfa 75 2.8 V6 Compressore
From what Hans has told me it's a mix and match between 75 and Alfetta gears. Lightened.
There has been some broken parts, more so in Jens green GTV which has a box from Hans.

Re: Ivar Olafsen, #66 Alfa 75 2.8 V6 Compressore
That's pretty much my next gearset. 4.10 RP, 50% lockup diff, 2.87, 1.72, 1.37, 1.035, 0.84. Mix of Alfetta, GTV6, Milano gears. But maybe Ivar currently has 0.95 5th, OK for Scandinavian tracks but not for some of the nice long tracks in the European Alfa Challenge.
Does this car have a transmission cooler?
This car is going to be the most powerful car in the European Alfa Challenge. Even the modified Dutch (mostly tube frame) 75 3,2 has a stock-ish engine. The fastest car is the 156 3.2, but nowhere near 370 bhp and massive torque of this car.

Hi Greg!Greg Gordon wrote:I would also like to hear about the number 10 Alfa 75 and the M3, both seem very fast as well.
I am aware that Hans bought some parts from you when developing the car, and i can confirm that the engine is powerful!
The Alfa 75 #10 is driven by Hans Rune Horne.
It has a 3.0 V6 24v and develops 281 WHP at 7500 RPM, and has for some time been the fastest car in our series.
We will see if i can beat him this year...to finish first, first you have to finish.
The Norwegian BMW-racingclub has adopted our technical regulations, so they sometimes drive together/against us.
They do however have problems with recruitment (for some strange reason...there are at least 20 times more BMW`s in Norway than Alfas...), so normally they are only 3 guys turning up. Will be fun if there would be more of them...
This particular M3 has a 2.8 straight 6,develpoing approx 290 WHP,and the car and engine is tuned for track-racing by some German company (don`t know which), and yes it is quick!
The guy driving it is 70-years old, but that does not seem to slow him down!!!
