Should i paint them Black...?

Post by GarthW »

When a had a friend afew weeks ago tell me to paint my wheels black, i thought yeah it wouldnt look to bad, but then said maybe. Since
then i've had a couple more tell me to do the same, i'm like-"What your sick of the silver already...?"

Anyway i thought i'd see what the majority of you guys might think..?

I saw a R32 the other day, well if i closed my eyes for 30secs, then opened them again, you would spot a R32 anytime here in Melb lol, but it had black wheels and looked very nice. So that got me thinking.

I love the silver, but a change could be nice.... :?

Affix colored cardboard wheel centers, stand back and see how it looks. At least you can get some kind of idea. As for me, leave 'em silver.

black might be a bit too harsh on a silver car - how about a dark 'smoked' grey or satin chrome type finish (like on the BMW M5 from a few years back)?

Jason,

Are you suggesting "Gunmetal Grey?"

Yeah, gunmetal grey (which has a blueish tinge and can look good against some shades of silver) or charcoal grey would look nice.

I've thought about similar colours for my wheels. If I paint them, I'll probably try to match the grey bits on my car (or get all bits painted at the same time).

oh, another option could be to paint the centres and leave the rims silver - those wheels have a heap of dish and that could look good.
