I'll be looking forward to your trip down.

I noticed Brian's dyno is the same brand as the one I used, but the different numbers (30hp difference) are a little concerning.

I want to take it to another dyno to see what it puts down there...

But as you say, there can be huge differences from one dyno to another.

Are you guys running:
- same map?
- same plumbing?
- same accessories?
- same headers?
- same exhaust?

I assume they are doing the pulls in same gear, and that you guys have same/similar tire pressure.

You will also see variations if one engine is heat soaked while the other isn't. So many factors...

(Repeat or do as I say at your own risk - be critical)

Bernard,

I'll email you my gotech map and see what you think. There were a few differences which may account for the different dyno figures?

Still have to get my part throttle mix right.
Cheers

Well, I think the headers are the same, though I have a complete aftermarket exhaust system custom built as opposed to Brians standard system, so I figure it should be gaining power there...

I also think I have less accessories than Brian (ie none), the intake plumbing isnt all to different.

I will give his map a go when I'm feeling a bit better, got the flu at the moment :(

Thanks for the map Brian.

Glenwood Motors engine?

Post by scottg »

Hi, beautiful car! Could you post some information about how/where you got this engine? What all was done to the engine before you dropped it in the car?

Thanks!

Scott,

The engine was purchased from Glenwood Motors in South Africa via John Van Rensburg. I think John would be able to give you more specifics about the engine but suffice to say, you can get them in variants of 3.0, 3.45 or 3.7L. Give him an email, his nick is jungle justice in this forum.

Got any pics of your 90? I drove with one on the highway today and after helping someone take one apart to create a GTV6, I'm really keen on getting one as a driver.
Opening another thread will probably be a better idea.

John,

Congrats on your new purchase. Last time I spoke to you, I thought you were changing camps and going to buy an SS Commodore :-) A bit off topic but there's a group of us, Stephen, Kim and Esperan who all have GTV6's and we are planing to meet up either on a friday or saturday afternoon for a get together. Let me know if you are interested.

Patzo, haven't used the injectors and will keep them as spares for my 75TS. Would be good to catch up if you get here.

I've already commented you GTV6 on another topic, but I got to say this again...
Your GTV6 is absolutely fantastic! And now that I've seen "the hardware" as well as the exterior, I must say, it's the best GTV6 I've ever seen.
Congratulations once more.
Brakes and shock absorvers are stock ?
I think I'm in love with your car.

BTW, Your 75 is very nice also.
Greetings from Portugal.

Alfisti PT,

Thanks for the compliment. The suspension is Ron Simon's coilovers and all the bushes have been replaced with polyurethane. The brakes are stock and will be the next upgrade. When will it end .... :-)
