Clutch

Post by jrreeve »

Alright,
I heard someone say the board is slowing down...well, i need a lot of advice/opinions!

I'm thinking about tackling my clutch which is about to give up the ghost. Anyone have any experience with sprung puck disc clutches? What are the most important items to have new...besides the clutch disc? Resurfaced flywheel? Also will be installing a single disc clutch as opposed to the OEM.

Can I use an low mile throw out bearing (single disc) and pressure plate?

Well aware that it will need to be balanced as a unit.

Also any idea's on what happens if i decided to lighten the flywheel? Not a significant gain since we have two flywheels? Could that cause extra stress on the guibos?

Also, got any pics of the install? I know its not a terribly tough job...but i'm not sure i'm comfortable dropping the driveshaft, and exhaust.

What's the trickiest part of the replacement?

Try the old site, http://www.alfagtv6.com/and look under Technical subheading for Driveshaft and Gearbox. You will get lots of specific info there.
