Rear engine mount difference 2.0 vs 2.5

Post by MD »

Hi guys,

Is there a difference between the rear engine mounts of the 2 litre and the 2.5 litre V6?

If so, what is this difference? Some photos please.

Recently I learned there is difference between the Alfetta/105 rear engine mount and the TS engine. The TS has a core reinforcement panel and provision for fitting a small starter motor.

I am hoping the V6 is similar but with a larger central opening for the bigger coupling. At least that's what I am expecting.

Are you talking about the aluminium piece or just the rubber?

the alu piece is different, has complete different mounting points. v6 en I4 can't be mixed.

4 cilinder alu piece with room for big donut is found on 1.8Tb, they use the big donut.

EXCELLENT info ! Thank you.

I was about to start thinking how I could cut the front section off the V6 housing and graft it onto the inline four rear section to gain some internal room for the bigger coupling I want to use. Seems like its been done by the factory. Great !

Not so great-where the hell am I going to land one of those suckers in Oz?

OK lads, anyone has one of the 1.8L ex turbo rear engine mounts for sale??

Maybe I need to contact the Greek Mafia to knock off the one JK is using
