Damaged clutch case

Removed today the transaxle complete. While cleaning 24 years worth of crap of it I found some damage to the clucth case. What do you think, should I replace the case or forget about it?

Second bit of damage, caused by the brake line rubing I think.

Tony,
These things abound like wild mushrooms..
Just replace it with a good used one. Welding it up would cost you more and more than likely distort it..

Yeah, agree w/ MD
even though the crack is in a lower stress area, would definately replace it...
Problem is many people want to sell you the clutch, too and that is more money...in that case, welding might be the better option

Thanks for the reply guys. While I have the clutch out do you think it is worth replacing the dual plate (only covered 55,000 miles) with a single plate unit? I have read that this is a good upgrade as it makes the clucth more progressive but am not sure if it is worth waiting until mine is knackered.

do it up right, single discs are easier to come by ...

And much cheaper. I use Highwood Alfa here in the UK and they quote:
Dual plate £550
Single plate £260
Are any modification required to fit the single plate?

Yeha, the whole clutch pressure plate throwout bearing assembly is different, but fits right in...
