Selespeed transmission

Hi all, just a shot in the dark here, dont know much about the 156 selespeed gearbox, but having driven one yesterday I was quite impressed with it. would it be possible to alter a V6 selespeed box to fit a transaxle alfa??, get rid of the electronic crap, and modify it to a sequential shifter? I realise that this would be a big job/conversion, but would the selespeed physically port to a transaxle?
selespeed wasnt a V6!.. 2.0 litre
