Radiator fan speed

Is the standard US spec radiator fan run at a single speed? ie. on or off?

yes...and make sure it does not blow on your knees if you are standing in front of the car!

and the best upgrade i know of is a porsche turbo set of fans and shroud...

I had to "rebuild" mine....got one good fan out of 2 bad ones, the front bearings were bad on both. I took the rear bearing from one and put it on the front of the other. The fan doesn't seem to run all that fast, but its better than nothing.
I picked up a Milano fan with the 3.0 that I bought last weekend. Provided I can get the Aprilia done the GTV6 gets the 3.0 on Memorial day weekend......no i don't expect to be done, but well along.

2Zig: there are aftermarket fans, the thin kind, for about 70-80$ that will fit as well with a little work....just don't buy a pusher when you need a puller..
even junk yard fans which you can just bring a battery and test...
obviously important to have good fan speed.
Both my fans kick on and create a very strong wind...kinda like me!

Are you greek too?
I've got 2- 14 inchers on the Cuda and they work well, but this Milano one came with the engine. If it isnt enough I'll go to perma-cool and try to work 2 fans in on this radiator (both pullers....according to perma-cool pulling is way more efficent than pushing)

I don't know about Mr Zee but I have a regular gig at the knot hole in the fence keeping an eye on the chicks in the pool next door. On my lunch break, I get on the periscope.

Hey Guys,
Here's a conversion I discovered for my GTV6 radiator fan replacement/upgrade. The Maserati Biturbo twin electrical fans bolt right in. All you need to do is to:
1. Slide the radiator back and up a little.
2. Slide the bottom of the fan shroud under the radiator and install the together. The radiator locks in the bottom of the shroud.
3. I used 3 SS self tapping screws threw the top of the radiator at the fan shroud's mounting to secure.
4. I switched the electrical GTV6 connectors to properly mate.
Results. I've never seen the motor run hot even in extreme temps. The motor runs cooler with the A/C on with the fan running continuous. The shroud has rubber flaps at the top and bottom to allow air to pass at speed.
There are 2 types of these fan set ups. The spare shown on the hood of the white Biturbo is the standard ('84 to '86 I think). The one in the GTV6 is the "Tropical" version (available on the '87 - '91 US I think). One fan motor is larger than the other and is the best. I paid about $60 USD for these and they are readily available; ebay, Biturbo parters...
