Today my speedo quit working...
At first it just didn't move, then I tapped the face of the speedometer and the needle jumped to full right deflection where it now stays whether the ignition is on or off.
Interestingly, the odometer still works, even the tenths. What is going on? It seems like the problem is in the speedo, not the transmission sensor or the wiring....right?
Please help, it it's a simple fix or replacing a transistor or resistor I might attempt it myself.

Alfa GTV-6 speedo
I have had a similar problem for years. I changed sending units, etc. to no avail. What did seem to help was resoldering the contacts on the PCB in the sending unit, and spraying a small amount of wd-40 on the rear bearing of the speedo drive motor. It now is working fine, knock on wood. Ron Johnston
