Checking every cylinder is working.

My 83 GTV6 with 88 Milano engine is iddling irregular on about 600 rev/min, hot and cold. I have checked for air leaks and if all components are OK, but couldn't find anything. I also checked if all spark plugs fire and they do.

I am suspecting that one cylinder is not getting fuel because of a bad injector. I checked the resistance of the injectors and the voltage of the actuation cables which was all OK.

Strange enough iddling drops only if I disconnect the spark plug cable of cil 3. If I disconnect all other cables one by one iddling does not drop.

What to do next, is there anything else i can check?

how about a compression test?

also check injector to intake seals. When they go bad you get a dangerously lean mixture.

it should drop idle if you pull ANY plug wire.......how old are the plugs and wires?

ive tracked injector issues by unpluging them like you would a plug wire

another thing to check is if you have an IR temp ..you can temp each exhaust port on the manifolds...if any one of them is high its lean if any one of them is cold its rich or has ZERO fuel

Wet the exhaust manifolds and see which one that stays wet after starting the engine. (If that was your question)

Thanks guys for the suggestions.

First think I will try is a compression test. Does anyone has an idea what a minimum healthy compression value should be?

Injector intake seals are OK because I just mounted the injectores.

Spark plugs are new, wires are used but I should check the resistance.

Great tip Mats to wet the exhaust manifolds.
