If I may add here...sorry,no experience with Crane stuff but..........

Msd worked great on my V6`s and..

Do you guys see many MSD failures of late? They are now being made in China for MSD and they are failing ten to the dozen here..
A dealer here has accumulated 41 failed units in 6 months for MSD claims dept.
French cars are shit and shit expensive to service and bloody awful and unreliable and expensive and friends don't let friends drive french cars and you wait years for parts.

Be all and end all of MSD is the HVC 6600 ignition and the 8250 coil that goes with it. The setup is widely used in NASCAR and is a no BS ignition. Advertised 135mJ/spark, actual ~160mJ. There's tons of them in eBay (US); rich guys replace them after one or two races!! Its a true pro ignition set. Make sure you supply it with hefty wires, it gobbles more than 10A at high revs! We installed 4 systems in the last few months here and all you hear is great praise!

Did you have to purchase a different coil?Or did this eliminate the coil altogether? Thanks, I never installed one but I am planning on doing it here in a week or two.

Good luck Allalfa...just be careful when removing the bosch chopper wheel..you need one of those spring clam removers and save the clamp to hold on the new wheel.

Also, you will have to remove the Hall magnet,

BE CAREFUL not to damage the cartrier plate or the lower mounting plate...these are just soft steel.

May need penetrating oil overnight soak for chopper wheel removal
