Jim I was not the least bit offended. On the contrary I value your well informed replies and sense of humour.Anyway it would take a lot more than suggesting I leave my AFM alone to offend me.Now ask me what model of Toyota my GTV6 is and it might get me going !

Thanks, the load's off my chest!
Toyota you said???? If we start talking REAL cars here, I feel a lot of us would draw up "For Sale" signs ready for the Alfa windshields!! Lets keep on living in this land of Oz (not Au, the movie!) where Alfas are great cars and forget about the real world, heheh, right? In OUR world, M3's and Scoobies just don't exist! Neither do the new fwd Skodas with std 240hp (Skoda???!!... Hardeharhahrhar!!!) or Audi S3's!
Allright gang, I got my helmet on and I'm already safe inside the corner dumpster, so fire away!.... And since I'm at it, let me remind you that the 75T Evos lost to M3's three years in a row back in '90! I don't care how many cubes you pack in the 75 or gtv, the badass Beemer will blow yer doors off, so don't *%$# with them either (besides AFM's!).
Here we all are spending all kinds of clams trying to prove Alfas are great! If we had 300hp stock, huge brakes and great handling, I bet very few die hards would be in this site! You don't see too many M3 sites talking about big cubes, brakes and such, do you??
Hah! if this don't get you goin' Murray, Idon't know WHAT will!!
Mr.Hyde, aka Jim K. (can I come out of the dumpster now?)

Jim I figure anything that costs me little or nothing and gains me >1 HP.is worth the effort
One thing for sure when I finished last year's Solo racing season without one problem, leak or case of brake-fade I truly realized what I love most about my Alfa.It may be 20 year-old technology but I know I'm having a lot more fun than those guys in their shiney new Bimmers. This season I'll have even more fun.My 17 year old son who used my car last season has finally bought his own ride (Thank God). Its a Civic and we've just finished plugging a Japanese market engine into it.(I'm actually helping the competition!) I guess that's why I've been sticking my greasy fingers into my AFM- can't let junior get the best of me !

Hi Myrray, smart thought not to get your boy hooked on Alfas! May do the family budget some good!
FUN is the reason we have our cars, all kidding aside and many of us HAVE to mess with them, thats where the fun is! My wife is sure I'd never buy a new M3 or an Mitsu Evo (the Tommy Makkinen Evo6 edition is the one I love) as I'd go crazy looking for something to improve. Don't get me wrong, there's always things you can do to ANY car, but I have this belief that you must be able to DRIVE what you build (my own personal opinion). This thought, puts a lid on the extent of modifications and an indirect limit on spending. Power for the sake of power is nothing, and we should all keep in mind that no matter what we drive, there's always someone out there (closer than we usually think!) who will easily blow us away. A sobering thought, this one. So, we do what we do, and hit the dyno to see if we're better than last time we went there. Its more relaxing if we're not competing with anyone, as this is totally unfair. Owner A wants to spend X clams on the car and owner B, 5X: No room for bragging rights here, its a matter of choice, not ability/knowledge.
Ok, I hear ya, maybe we should start a thread on...Philosophy?
