Source for '84 GTV6 Gas Tank & Fuel Injectors

Post by GregTX »

The saga of the no start condition continues. It appears that my gas tank is toast. Crud in the tank has reduced the fuel flow to a trickle and the engine simply will not start because of it. Some of that crud has made it to the fuel injectors and they ought to be replaced as well. I've shopped around, but would really appreciate input from those on this forum as to the best source for the tank and injectors at the best price. Words of wisdom are welcome. Thank You!

Injectors are available but they are almost certainly old. Various jobbers have then for $70 +/- each. Then again, they are newer than original and have not been subjected to heat, vibration and use.

OEM # 19160381
STD # FJ707
AC-DELCO # 217-3044 (also seen 217-3644 but I think that was a typo)
DELPHI # FJ10317

These are the same injectors that are found on 1979-1989 models such as ....

Nissan 200SX, STANZA, MAXIMA,
Jaguar XJS 5.3L
Renault FUEGO, R18I
FIAT X-1/9, STRADA
VW 1900 (??)
Porsche 912E, 412

Greg of Hiperformancestore.com only has high impedance injectors that need a modern engine management system, not the LJet.

Gas tank? Have it cleaned properly.

There is an internal filter that gets full of crap and that is not available (I believe).

Change the regular filter.

It is possible the pump got killed.
