That flywheel, is it just zero balanced? The V6 stuff I have seen have had an obvious weight offset. :?

Mats, they do have obvious balance weight but it is on the engine side of the flywheel not the "clutch" side

What clutch?

That would be an explanation.

The clutch from the 105 Spider that will be right there...

The flywheel does have balancing drill-holes - they are just not very visible in these pictures. The entire assembly - flywheel, crank-pulley, crank, rods, pistons, rings, wrist-pins (even the little wrist-pin-retainers) - were balanced as a unit.

kevin wrote:Yeah, everyone has their own opinion but heres my feedback. Firstly i have been to four All Tar rallies where Glenwood has entered these big bore motors and have never seen an engine failure. These engines are totally thrashed to the limit. But I have also heard of a failure or two on chaps in their road cars which makes me think that these cars that have failed, as they been driven by monkeys and totally abused.
I started a 3.7 project myself five months ago with acces to every machining facility avaliable but decided to take the engine to Glenwood on the basis that Dawie has paid all the school fees on this conversion with his own machinists. Dont expect chromed 'bling' motors but you will get the basic conversion. My family has had a number of v6 motors done by Dawie over the past fifteen years and none have ever failed.
I have also done my own motors in the past and have also got a very well assembled standard 3.2 motor from Baz which is very solid.
Just my opinion on a touchy subject for some.
*cough*

Getting it all sorted... This being a street car, I had to keep the pan off the ground. In turn, the hood will be modified with a left to right/ top to bottom gradual taper to clear tensioner bracket and first 4 runners/trumpets. About 1.5 inch lift above normal hood placement...

Thought I'd update the thread to show that work has not ceased. Engine work is just about wrapped up, bumper/side skirt mods, suspension stance set, interior, and sound.
