can the brembo anti-rattle clips be left out ?

Post by tomp »

I reassembling the brakes with new pads/rotors and started wondering, is the anti rattle clip on the stock milano calipers needed for anything other than quiet? It blocks cooling air for sure. Anyone run without these on the track?

Ive already removed the splash plates.

Tom I wouldn't do it. These "cross-shaped" springs, as Alfa calls them, exert a fair bit of pressure on the pads and keep them seated. While you're at it make sure the little C clips on the pins lock them securely in the calipers.Don't know if you saw Barry's recent post but......

Just found it! Wow. I left them in since the downside is rather significant if you know what I mean ;)
