Andrew: It's when you mount the disc to the alloy hub (of the disc) aka: hat with bobs that arn't fully fixed so that the disc can "float" a little. This way there is less stress in the material as the disc gets hot and grow.

Are you guys REALLY so in love with a 75 2-piston Brembo...? Even with vented/slotted/drilled calipers mine fade, squeel, dust, warp and won't lock-up (with non ABS) at 120mph+ (Not that I would want them too, but still, there is MORE to be had in braking...

my car is 900Kg and has ~145Hp. I'm more then happy with the brembos right now but I understand why someone has the need to upgrade.
I can easily make them fade just by using a bad braking tecnique though. Not saying you can't brake so don't get pissed.
On the 75T (with Brembos) the brakes are just sufficient with 1130Kg car and ~190Hp (sheitloads of torque though).
add 90Kg worth of driver to the above weights.
I have actually ordered 305mm discs for the 75, will use 4-pot Brembos and standard rear brakes though.

The original Brembo's are just fine for the street. They also do lock up or are somehow defective.
I don't love them and they are not sufficient for racing or track driving more than a couple of laps without cooling down.
For track driving you definitely need something better. Just remember cooling (especially the rear brakes). Don't do anything stupid (including changing to race pads in only one end) without considering what it does to the brake balance.
The brakes in this topic look really nice and are for sure enough for an average Alfa.

After changing to CarboTech pads and Motul fluid, the Brembos work great for me on the track. Through I only run for 20 minute sessions at a time.
The track is going to determine what works best. Road America is a long, wide open track with lots of high speed straights and plenty of time for the brakes to cool between corners. Blackhawk Farms is tougher on brakes. The Brembo brakes did better than I expected at Gingerman.
I do have the ES30 vented brakes in the rear which also helped considerably with the exhaust and transaxle heat.
Removing the foglights helped get a little more airflow to fronts.
I highly recommend Carroll Smith's book "Tune to Win". It covers in great detail making brakes and chassis' work on the track for sedans and race cars.

Finnished Kevins gta \116 brake setup.8pot up frnt on std. gta discs.Nothing fancy.Damn,these things work like crazy.
I know everybody knows how to do these,but the 8pots actually do fit into a 15" rim on a 310mm disc...........................
