Outstanding 1985 GTV6 Selling Friday night under the hammer

Post by Britt_Brown »

The following link:
http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detai ... tryRow=353
will take you to my brothers 1985 GTV6 which will sell under the hammer at 9:00 PM Friday night at the Mecom Collector Car Auction in Kansas City. This is a terrific original car with only 66,540 actual miles on it. NO RUST and NO Damage! The car has been stored in doors for 20 years but exercised regularly to keep fresh.

Paul doesn't want to store it any longer and will accept any reasonable offer. The reserve is presently set at 6,000 but will most likely be lifted if necessary! Paul can be reached at 816-616-3480.

Brian Haupt, the owner of Carriage Motor Works in Kansas City, 913-384-4515 knows this car intimately.

Please pass this on to known interested parties.

This is a great opportunity!

I'm pleased to advise that the car did sell last evening for $5,750. Not great but fair considering the market conditions.

I am guessing they won't take anything less than 5800$....

WOW...price is now over 10,000$!!

I am impressed that someone has almost doubled their money in two weeks! Maybe when I sell this one I will put '2nd' best in the country!

Ebay vs local auction...hmmmm, tough choice...ebay just reaches so many people around the world....

Note its over 10k and DIDN'T meet the reserve...either the seller is a fool or they have some other scheme to sell the car to the high bidder and keep ebay from making a dollar.

I have seen this seller many times and they usually have good cars (other alfa Milano/gtv6 as well). But I agree, 10g's is MORE than a good sale..

maybe play it out to see what the highest bid is and then relist with lower reserve... Usually, this backfires and people lose interest on repeat sales unless the reserve drops significantly.
