FS: '83 GTV-6 3.0

Post by MtnStephen »

1983 Alfa Romeo GTV-6 3.0 for sale. $1200.
With much sadness, I'm selling my beloved GTV-6. I really hope I can find a good home for her, she deserves it!

The details:

The Good:
(I'm sure most of this is obvious to everybody here...)
- 3.0 Litre Milano V6. Awesome torque, amazing power,
wonderful sound. The low-end grunt pulling out of
corners is nothing short of astounding. The original
2.5 was called in the press "A gift to enthusiasts".
The 3.0 is all that and more.

- The handling. The chassis stability and perfect 50/50
weight distribution make handling a joy. The rear
suspension is fantastic. The more you put your foot
down in a corner, the better it sticks.

- Koni adjustable shocks all around.

- Larger rear anti-sway bar with poly bushings.
- Larger front torsion bars included, but not currently installed.

- Ansa exhaust.

- Stainless steel / Teflon brake lines. Slotted rear-disks.

- Euro-style column switches. (low beams stay on w/ high beams)

- New in the last year:
- Rear wheel bearings.
- CV joints and boots.
- Water pump, hoses from head to thermostat housing.
- Timing belt.
- Heater hoses. (Tank to tee, tank to radiator)
- Coolant tank.
- Fuel pump mounts.
- Fuel line from tank to pump.
- Rear hatch strut.
- Rear brake caliper, left side.
- Rear brake pads.

The Bad:

- Second gear synchro. But then you know about that.
- AC does not work.
- Front castor-rod bushings could use replacement.
- Probably some other things I'm forgetting or overlooking. I'm
blinded by love.
- Burns a little oil, but always has.

The ugly:

- Cosmetically, she is "Challenged". There is a dent in the front
left fender where I hit a deer many years ago. There are some small
rust spots, underneath the rear hatch and on the A-pillars. The
paint is badly faded and worn on the front fenders and the roof.
Badges are faded.

- The interior has some cosmetic issues as well. The drivers seat
stitching is torn, and in general is showing her age and miles.

Comes with a spare Milano transaxle with lower final drive gearing, (Needs bushings.) and a box of miscellaneous parts.

The car and I are in the South Bay Area, Northern California, North America.
