In theory i can't see a reason for a LSD to lose power since the LSD doesn't nee dto work on the rollers... :? It's just a device inside your crown-wheel that starts working when there is a power loss at one of the wheels. When you're on the rollers ther can't really be a difference so the diff wouldn't need to work hence it can't lose power there. :)

If you weld up your open diff you wouldn't expect it lose power would you?

I would expect a not so good gearbox to cause the lack of power before i would suspect the LSD itself.
Drive it like you stole it...

Mee too. The LSD has no effect on power figures.
The obvious solution is to move the LSD to the good gear box. :D

This from my industrial experience....bad bearings and binding shafts can eat a lot of power and create alot of heat. Poorly aligned pinion and crown wheel can do that too. Put a little of each in the fray and you have your power loss.

Like what has been said above, the limited slip diff won't cost you horsepower in a straight line (like the condition on rollers).

I hope that helps,

Hi All

So, managed to get a race in yesterday - It was the Trofeo race at Midvaal raceway for the Trofeo guys!!! _ the day started REALLY early (04h30) AND I have some great Gopro footage (I think :) -- will be giving it to KevinR to load on his youtube account and will post the link here soon...

It was a really yukky SA day yesterday, cold and wet (happens once in a while in SA  )...

Anyway, got to track and quali was in the wet, so needless to say there were a few exciting moments...(see video) - a coupe of spins and lots of fly swatting!!!

we had 2 great races, the guys drove really well, some close fun (some more videos of race 2)...and again some off road excursions by one of the members of this forum  (video link later)..

Car went absolutley great, I was about 1sec faster than the last time and the day ended off with me getting an overall 2nd so REALLY chuffed...

Anyway, as I said great fun had by all and watch out for the videos... Oh, and the quality of Gopro Her2... (not plugging), but wow!!!!!

That is great! looking forward to the videos! I like the Gopro's, the only thing that sucks on them is the microphone, specially with our cars, it can't really pic up a good quality sound..

I have two, mics are useless and I wouldn't mind a sturdier mounting point...

I don't understand 3D, totally silly in my opinion. I use two to get one forward and one backwards (for instance), more views that is.

But let's not ruin this thread...

Still busy to download video , takes more than 1hr to download 6 mins with our bandwidth.
Must say from this video I can make some conclusions
1) GTV 6 with RS set up are awesome to race with .
2) joemart has found lines off the track to go around potholes ( yes they are a few on this circuit  )
3) A 3.7 motor is absolute dynamite compared to a strong 3.0 12v motor
4) Joemart is a proper driver :D ( I would hate to go back to 3.0 - it would seriously show me up  )
5) I spend more time off the circuit and in the air than on the circuit but still manage to stay in front due to power :D ( sump guards really work well)
6) semi slicks can grip in wet grass
Hopefully will get one clip up tomorrow .
