Right, I' ll look into building some kind of splash-shield.

Thanks! Welcome to the board.
This last few months has been terrible for this project, nothing done.
Hopefully I can sneak away a few days during the holiday season.

Looking forward to some Christmas pics of your car to brighten up the abysmal weather at the moment in " sunny " UK . What are the main items left to get it into a starting mode ?
Any spy prop pics yet ?

Get all the wiring done, fuel, exhaust, cooling (incl rad), alternator bracket, intake pipes...
Prop I havent even started. Also decided to get a fuel cell. Money well spent.
So I got quite a lot of work ahead of me...

Fuel cell sure gives you some confidence after some high profile car fires . Many questions as i am looking at this again . Are you going to have a pump in the cell or external pumps with swirl pot ? Is it a fuel cell with a bladder or fuel foam in it ? Is the tank gonna be close to the rear of car or in a bit for extra safety ? So many questions
Re: Alfetta GTV Turbo - Race Car update. 85% done.
GTV6 position, so pretty secure. ATL saver cell
Low pressure in tank and swirlpot under floor + high pressure pump.
I'm considering a fire extinguisher kit too.

Not a lot of action here but the wiring is coming along fine and I'm actually feeling it's coming to an end!
The machine shop have time to make my alternator bracket, brake adapters and various other bits. This means the engine build is almost done too!
Once the engine is done I can start with the exhaust, finish the engine wiring, do the oil lines...
You know, "the rest".
Need to source the fuel cell too, probably state-side but then I need to get it to Sweden.

Re: Alfetta GTV Turbo - Race Car update. 85% done.
Some cool work going on here!
Some questions for you:
What is the grey box under the ECU?
Are you using the 60-2 crank angle sensor and a reset trigger in your distributor to allow you to run your injectors in full sequential mode?
And how much do you think the whole car will weigh when completed?

Thanks.
The grey box is a modular fusebox system, holds all the fuses and relays. Extremely nice to have a 100% customizable home for the electrical system.
I will use the 60-2 pulley setup but no home signal, batch fire injectors are fine by me. I have heard about gains when running sequential and controlling injection fire angle but that has been high strung N/A engines. Simplicity rules.
I hope the car weigh in at around 950 but maybe more, turbo, intercooler, big brakes, huge wheels and so on. Fingers crossed.

Hey Mats - had missed this - looks awesome.

I use a radial/cylindrical scotch brite brush and a drill. Works very well and you can even "fill in" smaller scratches with it. Feels like it pushes a small amout of material around.
The surface is very sensitive to fingerprints and oil/grease (and of course scratches) but the anodization will hopefully help a lot.

Mats,
Who makes the rear wing? I really like the shape! Do you, Rosengren, Roos, all use the same rear wing? The only ones I can ind over here are fugly Voltex wings. I wouldn't mind the 90's BTCC style rear wings. I feel I can benefit on some of the high speed tracks like Willow Springs with the huge sweepers.

NLA I'm afraid.
It's an old F1 design that a privateer bought and made a extrusion tool for. The upside is a perfect profile. The downside is the weight and the fact that once the first batch was done the cost to set up the tool again and make another batch was too high.
The profile is well proven and works well even on our slow cars (by comparison) and it's very forgiving, even if you manage to mess up the wing is difficult to stall.
Still need new mounts for it though!

Nice work Matts! I am building a turbo Alfetta too(for street). Not near as much work as yours, though.
