Probably looks like same set up 4 weeks ago but whole car was stripped of bumpers and fiberglass trim to be painted in glorious Rosso 130 by Lakeavenue again . I have now 10 days to try get all together again . Konrad came past in his race GTV3.0 12v carbi so of course we did some test driving in the suburbs on the quiet roads . His car is ver strong but with the 75 3.0 box the gearing is very tall . Hope to see him on the track again soon after long break .
At the moment I am making up the prop . Using a Bedford universal on rear and the standard BMW m3 rubber coupling on front to take shock . Been raining a lot lately so difficult to get stuff done . On my new rims I had a whole lot of bolt failures which got me worried . After siliconing the rims and using 45mmx8mm cap screws 12.9 grade they started popping heads off and we had not even torqued them . I think they were fong kong grade and heat treatment in galvanizing was carried out incorrectly so changing all 100 bolts to stainless as black bolts will corrode in uk weather .

Hi Kevin,

Do you just use the rubber coupling u front and then straight back to an U-joint in the rear?

I need to make a propshaft as well and i have quite a similar setup with a Sei diff and bmw box up front.

my plan was to use 2 CV joints with no rubber donuts. But i'm a bit worried it will resonate. :(

I prefer to use atleast one rubber coupling as its always worked well in the passed . Especially now with the twin pack AP copper clutch it will hopefully take the harshness out . I was gonna use two rubber coupling but already had the Bedford adaptor . m3 coupling is already proven it can take the pain .

I guess i can use the bmw donut up front then. Just need to double check the alignement of the engine vs diff then, i don't think the rubber will survive a few degrees misalignement. In the back i'll probably use a CV joint then, easier to make an adaptor for. :)

look forward to seeing pics of your set-up, alway's nice to steal a good idea from someone.

Trying to put engine in with gearbox attached . Was not to bad , much easier than put a 105 series engine in . I had to drop suspension and put the small wheels on as I was running out of space . Had my dad to assist and comment from his chair as work progressed . Every time I moved car forward on slope i had to hold engine he would put the brick in front of the wheel . We did this about five times to get engine correct spot .The hardest part was rigging the engine on wet grass to the make do hoist . Added some prop jacks so the carport would not touch the ground . Fun and games without a garage :D
Making prop tomorrow

Is that the bedford adapter you were talking about? A new flange for the Sei diff?

Could you tell me more about it? Standard bedford part perhaps? Looks easier to work with as the original flange. :)

very frustrating time as could not get clutch to engage so had to lenghen pin by 40mm. Thus taking engine out for second time in two days . Actually takes about 45mins . Not that bad with the bigger tunnel . Some pics of the radiator . The pins locate on the Alfa rubbers . Its a Behr core with custom side tanks with a Kia Shuma Fan . Best fan for price you can get here .
Evo , I will post pics and all specs of prop tomorrow . All i know is I paid double for the BMW front coupling from E36 M3 . I found there are two types identical 96mmx12mm bmw coupling which suit the 328 and m3. The m3 been the heavy duty and double the price . I will put up the part number tomorrow .
Got me sister always taking pics when least expected . Bmw box is not that heavy (as can bee seen).

26112226527 should be the right number for the M3 donut. Follow the link and enter the world of beemer partnumbers and info... :P

I thought there would be no difference between the 328i and the M3 since they even share the same gearbox. :? 328i rubber is also used in E28 M5 so shouldn't be to bad also. :|

Looking forward for the pics and info.. :P
