Had the first testing run today. A mixed bag. Brakes and suspensions seem to work ok. Engine is misfiring on full song but wasn't doing it on the dyno. Probably got frightened by some of the big hairy chested V8's running on the track in the morning session..

Got a fuel leak to sort and a tweek adjustment on my selectors to pick up first gear better.

See how it goes in about a week's time at general practice at Lakeside..

Update time.

Been almost three weeks since the last post. I have done a sheitload of work going over everything in fine detail to figure out my engine faltering problems. After redoing the entire loom over again and re-soldering all the connections, carefully re routing the wires to minimise noise interference from things like igniters, coils, injectors, alternators etc things started to improve.
Finally, I checked through the setting in the software and noticed a very high level of filtering on my TPS signal so I reset that to zero.

Took it for a test run on a private circuit today and it seems all my work has paid off. IT LIVES !
Along the way I sorted my fuel tank breather leak and other minor items. I still have a short list of must dos before I take it on the track again like refining the heel-n-toe set up and improve the harness fitting etc but finally I feel some degree of satisfaction that the project is heading in the right direction.

Well I guess this will be my final post of this topic as the Cab is now fully complete and all systems are operational. It's been a fun project to share with you and give you some inspiration to do your own thing too.
My skills as a racing driver are crap but I do love building these transaxle racers. Thanks for all the feedback both public and private and the gags that pull you through the tough times when there is a big head scratch on how to solve a challenge.

My thanks to guys in Scandinavia, Holland, Sweden, the UK, US, SA and naturally Greece. My appreciation to local guys in Oz goes without saying.

Great work MD. Thanks for documenting it for us. Speaking of documentation, did you happen to record the diameter you ended up pressing the bottom ball joint into? I think you said you tried a couple of diameters so the joint didn't deform and end up stiff?

Hi Scott,

You are giving me too much credit.

I work with machine shops but I am not a machinist. My caution was to advise your machinist to bear this issue in mind. I do not have the specific BJ hole dimensions and never did. I did provide the details of the BJ themselves only in terms of their part numbers.

You will also find that each BJ will have slightly diffent tolerances and the machinist will need to factor that into each case.
