Cam question 164 v Verde

Post by xrad »

Any difference in 164S and Verde 3.0 cams? IAP lists the same part number.

The 164S cams have a slot on the back of the Front (left hand) cam to drive the distributor.

A few degrees more on the intake and 1mm more lift, I think. Not a huge difference. You'd be better or getting something with more lift on both the exhaust and intake, and figure out what lobe centers to use. Also, it's not just the peak values, what about the ramp. Nobody tells you the ramp, especially not companies like Colombo etc. Contact alfar7@aol.com for a custom set of cams. Or ask JimK what Catcams is suitable for a street engine. (catcams.be).
