Blowing sound

Just removed the oilpan on my 3.0 engine. Cranked on the pulley and heard a blowing sound from the pistons / cylindersleeves during compression. I also saw that there where bubbles in the remaining oil laying in the bottom of the piston (engine upside-down).

I know the purpose for a crankcasev ventilation, but am i supposed to hear the phenomen?

Just changed pistonrings/gaskets 3000 milas ago. But the crankshaft oilseal (rear) started to leak after a 100miles. The engine though run perfect.

Do i have a problem or is this air normal?

some air will get by the rings at your slow rate of hand cranking...and sometimes you can hear it. Valves set correctly? What was your compression after rebuild?

170-180 PSI in compression. Valves set correct. i don´t think there´s any problems, just got paranoid. Will install the engine this weekend.
