My 1983GTV 6 engine revs out with ease but occasionally cuts out at 5200rpm, as if the rev limiter has been hit, I have replaced, leads, coil, rotor button, distribotor cap, plugs, and checked everything, could it be the ignition module? any ideas appreciated.

Yesterday when it hit 5200 and cut out there was a loud bang in the exhaust so I am figuring the backfire is ignition. The car runs like a gem until 5200rpm and maybe only 1 out of 3 times cuts out and missfires at 5200rpm.
I haven't checked the fuel pressure - any suggestions on what sort of gear I would need to check the pressure?
Thanks.

Thanks, I will check. Everything is earthed, no oil in plug wells.
