Fiat 500 Abarth DYNO results

Post by Greg Gordon »

I have been doing a little work with the Fiat 500 Abarth, basically more boost, intake, blow off valve and water injection. The guys at abarthspeed made a video on their front page. If you like these cars it's worth check out. http://www.abarthspeed.com The video starts pretty much right away.

500 Abarth dyno testing the TMC engine module

Post by Greg Gordon »

I worked on a new Fiat 500 Abarth. A few minor mods and we got it up to 192whp. All the details are here:

I am pretty impressed with this car. It's a lot of fun, and easy to get power out of.

DOes it come with a V6?

haha just kidding Greg.

BTW, I'd love to get one, but it's too small for my family's use. Would be great if they brought the MiTo to supplement the offering from FIAT/Alfa. I would buy a Mito 1.4T TCT if they were sold here.

It's a little small for a family car, but not bad. An Abarth is our primary use vehicle at the moment. It's fine for any trip with 2 people. With three or four it gets a little tight, but not bad.

I would like to see a slightly larger version with a 1.6 or 1.8 liter engine, say in the style of a retro 131.

It is huge compared to the original, but it's still pretty small for a modern car. It's smaller than a Mini, yet has more space in the backseat, even more than the mini-clubman.

In a car like the 500 you shouldn't worry about the back seat leg room. You would just not use the back seat.

But yes, I see your point. :)
