Amazing TS. In the turns it seems to obliterate the V6s.

Dennis (De Rooy), is Marc's car roughly the same spec, engine wise as yours??

Which one is a TS? The comments identify the Blue/White one as a 24v?

They corner incredibly flat, and on slicks?
Track looks very smooth though.

The blue all blue 75 at the beginning is a 24V. The White 75 with blue stripes is Marc's 75 TS (look for marc7eleven) just blast passes the GTV6 in the 1st turn. Amazing. Not sure if they are on slicks, but I think so.

Ah, ok. That makes sense as it was looking quite a bit slower on the straights.
The camera car driver looks a bit stressed though, like he is taken by suprise every time something other then "just driving around the track" happens. What I mean is that he is not using the full cornering potential of the car, staying off the line at corner entry and keeping waaaay out of the way on the inside when overtaking. Not sure if there are more cars behind though.

Doesn't the track look very narrow in some parts for being an F1 classified track? Alternative routing for car with more then 1Kg/Hp? 8)

Marc's car actually had less hp than me (190 vs 205), but made a lot of torque across the rev range. He did run less revs though. Different engines since he uses carbs  I don't know if he uses this config now, might have had a rebuild over the winter. I don't know.

We always run slicks, unless it rains. Marc is a very talented driver, always gives the V6 guys competition or just blasts by. The white/red car you see in the beginning is his main competitor in the 2000cc class. Last year, when I drove, I was at least 6 seconds off the pace (on a 2min lap!) Search for his own videos on youtube (marc7eleven). I believe he did a 2.56 this year at Spa, amazing.

edit: The red sud sprint in the beginning is a 1600

1600???? That thing smoked a GTV6 24V!!! Maybe it;s just super light. I kow in the UK, the boxer bored out to 2.0 is putting out > 275 bhp. Talk about David slaying Goliath......

reminds me of this

But I'm pretty sure this 145 has a super touring spec engine, or something close to it.

Reminds me of a Pirelli slogan: "Power is nothing without control"

:)

The sprint, it is fast, have seen it on Spa last year.
A real rpm monster which runs like a swiss clock

Is that "1598 ccm" regulation..... or is it meant to piss other big CC drivers off

I saw the race at Dijon Prenois, the sprint, GTV6 24V and Alexis Walter's 12V. None of the V6 cars had anything on the sprint. It had more pulling power on the straight, let's not talk about the turns..... and here I thought RWD, almost 50/50 weight balance was the trump card.....

I don't know what the story is behind the sprint but before the dutch alfa romeo challange and german scuderia alfa classico went together the sprint competed in the scuderia in the "up to 3000 cc class"
The complete group was V6's except for the sprint.

There was a 1600 cc it was sold for 192hp sprint for sale some time ago in germany with kugelfisher injection

btw the 145 has a shitty gearbox nothing shifts like a transaxle

The ....ccm script is used when more then one classes race together in one series. this way the spectator can easily keep the cars apart. At least that is what i was told a few years ago when i asked someone about the engine size stickers.
Could be a bit shameful for the v6 boys being overtaken bij the 1.6 however...

Over here they have a racing series with VW's, Peugeot's and Fiat's, they run 1.6 1.8 and 2.0, the smaller engines have a minimum weight advantage, the 1.6 8v are putting out 190hp at around 7800rpm on a single 45 DCOE weber carb, obviously with some serious compression and quite agressive cam but it's possible, also now that I remember there is a Sprint running on the same category, same rules so single carb for it too, don't know how much power it's putting out but it should be at least around 180hp given the lap times, it's also a 1.6.

Maybe it's a 1.7 16v de-stroked to 1.6.

If it were a 1.6 8V that would add insult to injury for the big engine cars.

The boxers only have 3-main bearings, although the iron block is probably very stiff. Mains replaced every season? Not unsual for a car which thrives on RPMs. Funny thing is I think in the UK Alfa series a sprint is also one of, if not the fastest car in that series. AHM's boxer is also extremely fast it seems, but that's a 2.0L.

I think boxers have 5 main bearings mate, i'm not so sure though, can't quite remember from when I opened up my engine, the sprint i'm talking abour here is a 1.6 8v

boxer engine has three main bearings.

AHM engine uses different everything.... custom crank also. 2.0 also needs a longer stroke, if you just increase the bore to get to 2.0 the liners get to thin.

Raising the redline on a boxer means big investments need to be made, they tend to kill their conrodbearings quite fast if you rev high.

Combining the 1.7 16v engine with a 1.3/1.5 crank gives the 1.6

gearboxes for the boxer are the worst Alfa ever used... :( they can be shifted very fast but they are very fragile.
