Ok lets see

2.0 standard alfa Romeo block and head

Lazer Cut copper Head Gasket

7:1 Cr sliced fiat pistons

Garret air research T3 / T4 Hybrid

The turbo has a piece of cosworth and lancia intergral in it

Big Ass Intercooler

GTV6 2.5 brake calipers and disks

Dropped suspension

Yip thats about it

The Car does wierd things with a turbo in it like

The engine bay gets extreamly hot and melts the bonnet heat shielding.

The Brake booster pipe gets sucked flat

The distibuter roter starts cutting at about 160 kph (the spring one)

If any one in south Africa has a left indicator lens I would gladly buy it

With that kind of underhood heat I'd think you'd want to get the air intake isolated from the heat and get cold air to it. I think Greg Gordon built a cold air box around the filter on one of his supercharged cars and it helped.

Nisaar that is one nice looking 'sleeper' of a Guilie.

Can imagine a few BMW drivers wondering 'What the F@3%!' when you smack them in a traffic light GP.

Your brake booster pipe must be replaced.I would suggest you get hold of some proper heat insulation material for the pipe as well.

I have had my shoes melt from the amount of heat generated by a Nord turbo motor on a hot run through to Sun City once.We got there and one of the security gaurds came up to me and said 'Sir,your bonnet is bubbling!' I still chirpped him 'Nice joke' only for him to insist I get out and look...the bonnet was indeed bubbling from the heat...

Thanks for the heads up MR2 Zig but my only problem with this car is space... I can't have the air intake to low either with the currant rain situation here in Jo burg. Its been raining Buckets .

Thanks Fernando so far I Diced a 2 door M3 robot to robot a Z4 but that guy ran me after 210cos this Gullie box runs out of revs, Also Diced a 1970's porsche 911, but afer that my turbo blew I needed a new back plate impeller and seals which costed alot.

what I remember is that Greg ran a piece of sheet aluminum back from the radiator support to just behind the airfilter thenbent 90deg and went to the inner fender. He then closed the bottom. The top was the bonnet itself and there was a seal (door sealing strip i think) along the top of the sheet metal. air was let in thru a existing hole in the radiator support.

Once Greg gets his supercharger in the GTV6, it looks really tight also.

MR2 Zig I think thats very possible cos I drilled the inner fender already for ventilation I'll take your advice and Macgyver something there ....

Nisaar: I love your car. A stockish looking Alfa with forced induction power is a lot of fun. On the subject of a cold air box, in my experience it helps non intercooled setups quite a lot. The improvement is reduced on intercooled cars, but it's still there.

It's a picture of Greg's work that MR2 Zig was referring to. A car he built for one of his customers. Judging by the fact he hasn't commented, I'd assume he doesn't mind me linking it up.

I have had other alfas but before I was just interested in making them original like my 159.

Since Im drving Ive had an alfa6 sedan three Gullies , two 159s two Gtv6 2.5's and I want a spider now the 1970's kind.

Thanks Rookie and Greg I really appreciate your Guys input. As you see my intercooler is quite big so it really cools the air down, but I am gonna shield the air intake from the heat.

I tried something else It works quite well also my home made boost cooler

ok here's how it works :

All you need is a window washer bottle and the jets that go on the bonnet.
just mount the jets on your intercooler and control it the same way with the indicator control.

fill the bottle with the methanol/water mixture or what I also find works is radiator coolant. Just let it spray onto your intercooler to cool the air off dramaticalyand see the car boost.

Good idea nissar,,,,but,,,,,coolant is really bad to do that with as it is about as slick as oil on the pavement. It may not be a problem for you but the fella on the motorcycle behind you may get a bit upset. Also the racetrack folks probably won't let you use coolant for the same reason.

WWII aircraft used the same technique when they needed that extra bit of power....its still used on unlimited air racers today.
