Yeah, but theres some material in english, check magazines pdfs, there are almost all the road test made by magazines from all over the world. A lot of comparisons with Capris, 924s, 280Zs, even a late 80s where there´s a road test against 300ZX turbo, Corvette, 944 turbo and Jag XJ-S V12.

You'd be surprised...... different cars have different plus points and if you'r an enthusiast buying something because you like it, rather than to fulfill a specific need you could be drawn to a rather strange mixture of cars.

It's an interesting point thouigh - what are the GTV6's competitors these days (as a classic)? The 944? Lotus Excel? Dare I say it, the Capri? Lancia Beta coupe?

indeed, and anyway, Xj-s may have been popular in the US, but they were utter dog shit!, rusted worse than any alfa, unreliable electrics, poor handling, poor fuel consumption. The lister though had a superb engine that was cloaked in mystery. Given the choice between a mint XJ-s sport or a mint GTV6, id go for the alfa every time.

In the 80s when comparison tests were done between the GTV6 and the other GTs, a lot of things were evaluated, like fuel economy, back seats comfort, etc. The GTV6 lost in this subjects against its competition.
Today when comparing classic GTs the most important things are style, performance and driving enjoyment. I dont know any GT that can be rated a 10 or A+ in those three subjets as the GTV6. I tryed sometimes to search for a replacement but threre´s no replacement for that car. It doesnt matter how many cars I could buy, I´ll always have the GTV6 with its 12v 2.5 in my garage.
In 2004 I bought a 1996 M3 3.2. The idea was to sell the GTV6 but no way. If I need the money the M3 goes first. It is incredibly fast, much faster than my GTV6 but its not as fun to drive. I dont enjoy driving it as I enjoy driving the GTV6. And have in mind that my M3 is 6 speed manual and no traction control. I cant imagine how boring to drive today GTs must be. With no clutch, semiauto gearboxes, all that comfort and all the electronics interfearing with the driving experience.
