Whaddya Reckon Greg, Fedezyl, Matt? This guy's got a few years up his sleeve!
And the sound of those JT8s spooling up as he goes around about sums it all up for me- I just love Jet NOISE!!

Nice video!
QF did a similar final flight for a 747 into longreach for their museum.( don't know how wide the runway is there), prob more than 15m tho' you south Africans!!!!! Ha ha
Was that flight for the same reason or scap etc
Geez the aircrafts final flight, the temptation for a high speed "beat up" would be too much..............

You guys reckon the SP can put on its brakes and go full throttle to build up thrust and then let go? That was how the early 737-100/200 (the one with the long engine) took off from the runway in my hometown. By the time we got to the 737-300 this was no longer an issue. DC-10s, tristars, 747-200s, A-300s never needed this. Hell even the fokker friendship never had this issue.
Jooolz, its 7.45 am and Ive just watched the vid..Thanks mate, believe that I have tears in my eye`s..The hours I spent replacing the fuel indicator harness in the wing tanks on papa charlie with my crew were some of the best in my life...The anti stat suites, fuel shloshing about, the baffled compartments.....Its something very few people experince ever..
Nothing like working on these aircraft..
I do not know what Im doing working on friggin Alfa`s...
Thanks dude..

French cars are shit and shit expensive to service and bloody awful and unreliable and expensive and friends don't let friends drive french cars and you wait years for parts.
Good luck Wed' Jules !! Things going well up here, its been a busy 6 months......so many changes, finally getting back into some sort of normal routine now. I'll post some pics

Geez barry anti static suits crawling around in the wing tanks!!! You're a braver man than me! You must have some great stories to share!
I wish i had a my gtv here, miss having an alfa to drive/tinker with as much as i would miss flying!

heh, sadly I just can't make it work, but I imagine putting down a 747 in a 15m wide runway must be interesting to say the least!!!
I'm getting ready for my recurrent training now, they are bringing another 737 but this one has an Sp177 autopilot and autothrottle...so no more handflying I guess...I love automatisms!!

Geezuz Barry that to me sounds like a Claustrophobe's worst nightmare!!
Thanks Matt- Nice piccies - dont worry mate, the 'fett. GT will be glad to see you too when you get back to it.. . looking forward to another HK update.
Fedezyl... the only autopilots Ive dealt with were in Duchesses (obviously!)- one would gently oscillate between 50' +/- in Alt. hold mode- in the end you get annoyed and just disconnect it...
Zamani- that is the best bloody call Ive read in a while- and OH so true!
