That sucks. I am really sorry to hear that. Like many others I have been watching this project from the beginning.

I was hoping it was some April fools joke. Realized that it was waaaay past 1st April.

This is more than a car you just pay someone else to do. This is a car he had a hand in building. It's not my car but I'm pretty bummed about the whole thing.

Thanks for the support guys. I wish it was a joke - it surely felt sur-real when it all un-folded. It was like "someone pinch me", "wake me up".

Plans are in the making for another meaner and leaner 75/milano

Barry, got an extra set of those front suspension pieces that you (plus Andrew and Kevin have played with)? I could use a set...

:( Thats horrible to hear, I can imagine I would have broken down in tears if it were me :(.

Although I'm looking forward to version 2 I must say. As, it seems, Jes is :).

Glad you are staying positive! I would have spiralled into depression.

Sorry Jes - it was an awesome car. I was lucky enough to arrive just as the final touches were being made and see the car in the 'flesh'.
I do hope you decide to build another :D

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Cheers,

That REALLY sucks! I know how much effort you (and others) put in that car. Was it totally destroyed or is everthing saved but just needs to be cleaned?

Good luck on an other build!

Jes That really really sucks. Hope there's something to learn about the cause of the fire??

Also maybe there's some salvagable stuff for beast number 2? do please tell us all about "project phoenix" as it unfolds. I was certainly looking forward to hearing about the finished article, we'll all just have to wait a bit longer.

Glad you're jumping straight back in, can't keep a good man down eh, sounds like a stronger beast will rise from the ashes....

Things back of the rear doors appear salvagable, e.g. rear suspension, gearbox, clutch, rear brakes, conversion to rear outboard brakes, fuel cell, carbon fiber trunk-lid. Eveything front of that, e.g. engine, front suspension, carbon fiber hood, instrumentation, race seats, windshield, etc does not look good. Though, a more detailed evaluation is required. If the chassis is salvagable then an enormous amount of labor is saved for the roll-cage, seam-welding, front tower reinforcement/conversion to coil-over only, and all kinds of little customizations. Though, it is premature to speculate. An adjuster is supposed to inspect the remains in the near future. After that I should have a better idea of how I will approach the resurrection.

But, the list of improvements is already growing

As the verde is down it looks like the next track event will be in a $500 stockish 2.5 V6 milano - what a contrast... Though, it should be fun!

Jes,Without trying to be real morbid here, you got a pic?

Fire usually warps and deforms steel in a big way..it also reduces the tensile strenghth ..hope the shell is usable, just check it out carefully..
