Euro bumper hauling

Post by zambon »

I think I know the answer, but...
Does anybody know what they will let you check as luggage on an international flight? I am dreaming of bringing home some Euro bumpers...

It will be an oversized item and you will be charged a little extra I think. Actually I've seen people bring back a big huge cello ( a big viola). The bumpers are light though, tell them to cut you some slack.

Will they need to be carefully packaged (extra weight)? How fragile are these bumpers? Can I get away with bubble wrap and cardboard? or will they be crushed?

I'll be in Denmark in May and may try bring a set back as well. Any other 75 Euro pieces worth bringing back?

Good suggestion, thanks.
Already got a set of new Euro headlights waiting in the garage for when the verde is retired from track use. Or, were you thinking of other lights? Actually, I like the "all red" tail lights on the 89 milano platinum, I think it is. Wonder if they are common and easy to pick up in Europe.

I dont think all red light are legal in Denmark...

They have, however, these rear lights...

I have '92 rear lights . All red. But the reverse and blinkers light up white and amber. The '89-'91 have white lines. The '91-'92 have clear interlaced with red on the reverse and blinkers. These are the coolest :)

Oh yes, get the new grille.

Possibly a SZ starter motor. It's more compact than the 75's, and sounds cooler. Problem is it's made from unobtanium... but if you do get one, please also get one for me :D

Hmmm.... euro badges? 75 3.0 V6 ? I have 75 1.8 T.SPARK hehe.

Wait a second, does that mean my rear lights are different?

I figured one was dirtier than the other, but this interlaced thing has me thinking my left one is the later model, and the right is the earlier...

Anyone got any input on this? (Sorry about the hi-jack!)

Hey Jes,

How about a set of motronic injectors and rail off a 90+ 75 v6? I would like to use those for my GTV6 GoTech project.

I think you would need runners too.
I am just planing to make runners out of bent tube and 164 runners. That should be your backup plan.

Sorry about the hi-jack, but I thought it would also be of interest to you, and related.

Don't try bring anything fuel related - tried that... won't fly  Even if it has been aired for some time. In my case it was actually a fuel rail + injectors our of a milano. Strangely, they didn't feel comfortable with that on the plane... :D
