Dear friends, knowing that I'm going to sell my GTV6 wood steering wheel, a friend has asked me whether this might be compatible with a '91 Spider or not.
From a recent experience I know this kind of knowledge is rare (bought a (wrong) 75 steering wheel hub because someone suggested this was compatible with GTV6 ) so let me add two pics for better clarification.
Thanks!
Lucio

Re: GTV6 steering wheel compatibility
I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but it was my understanding that the OE GTV-6 steering wheels that look like wood were actually some sort of synthetic or composite. Don't know if that's true or not, but I remember a thread about it on the Alfa Digest years ago.

You are probably right, Charlie. It seems wood but perhaps it is not.krash2 wrote:I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but it was my understanding that the OE GTV-6 steering wheels that look like wood were actually some sort of synthetic or composite. There's a thick layer of transparent coating that mask everything...

Re: GTV6 steering wheel compatibility
A friend of mine tried to sand and revarnish a "wooden" steering wheel from an Alfasud Sprint once. It was plastic.
