I want to install a cage in the 75, any idea if it can be rego'd here in NSW? :)

If not, I might just move it to QLD rego, cheaper anyway.

Hiya Ben, It will be getting a mod plate with codes for the cage, seats & seating capacity, brakes, fuel tank and ... well, just about every code you can think of. About the only thing I'm unsure of is if it is legal to run a polycarb / lexen rear screen. If it is, I'll bond one in.

Mef, I'm not sure of the NSW rules on cages. I thought you were in Qld ?

Nah Daniel- Bernard's job is to sit on the border and send the cane toad's north again with his driver- just like the toohey's new ad- he's in the tweed.... aren't you Bernie? At least I thought he was!

Yeah can register a cage but need an engineer's certificate.... bit of stuffing around- may as well do the QLD rego thing mate

Nice cage daniel- weight?

Hahaha, true :D Lighting them on fire first makes for more fun.

I might make the move... you can also get cooler number plates in QLD ;)

Thanks Jules.
Are you chasing car weight or cage weight.
Car weight is targeted at <1050kg but I won't know until it is complete and put on a set of corner scales. It has been on a substantial weight loss program, though you can see that from the current pics. I'll still retain some luxuries like a stereo but a lot of stuff has gone.
Cage weight is around 40 - 50 kg. A little heavy but I used 350CDS to meet CAMS. Could have been lighter and stronger in CrMo.

Chromoly aint cheap..... so yeah, understandable!

1050 is good. I figure I could get my car down there, and 250hp and short gearing would make a fair difference, and would handle and stop better too

Yep, that's my aim. Decent hp with loads of torque - hey the 3.0 24v has more torque just off idle than my 2.5 had peak - combined with a 75TS 4.1 with 50% lockout. All stuffed in a 1050kg, stiff as chassis with modded front uprights, rose joints everywhere, decent spring / shock combo, big brakes and 16x8 wheels running semi-slicks.
Well, that's my idea of fun anyway.

Great stuff Daniel. Now all you gotta do is get around that flying brick in front of you. hehe

Remember it will be red so that's gotta be worth 5hp more..aided by a good tail wind ( mean the baked bean kind) and my James Bond tack spreader fitted to the back to slow the opposition down a bit should see the brick on the podium. :D

Hey Jules, Here's my tip. Take it all to bits and store it under the bed like we all do. What's the matter with you lad, got no imagination ? Maybe for a pilot that's good thing, less day dreaming on the job and less mountains being environmentally affected by flying missiles trying to ram a tunnel through at 30, ooo feet. :D

Damn Mike you read my mind- I think may have a little too much imagination for a pilot-

then again, Matt Dolan has more imagination than I do- he's stuffing around with Carbies!!!

Daniel- Im sure the bastard does... have more torque, that is...
Man Ive gotta rev mine to get going, and it pulls harder than a stock 2.5, but its all up high in the rev range. Its fun to bash 8k with the tacho needle twice within 3-4 seconds too.
But why do I still want a turbo? More torque More Hp. And the sound of wastegate flutter and a screamer pipe on boost.... ahhhh

Jules, What tacho are you using? Mine runs out of numbers ant indicator lines by 7500.
I agree, there's nothing as sweet as a screaming 2.5. I dont think mine ever saw 8000 but it certainly wound off over 7500 'cause someone removed the fun limiter. I got sick of it cutting out when the fun was just starting. Not as scary as hitting the hard limit on a ZX6R at 15500 though.

Mike, As long as none of those 105 series mobile chicanes get in the way, we'll be right.

Damn Mike everything under the bed- best place to hide it from my girl that's for sure!

Mobile Chicane! Great! My tacho is a VDO one- 10k one.

Because I was such a good boy this year, Santa brought me a new paint job as an early Christmas present :D
After all of that hard work, the paint looks great !
Now it gets down to the real work - stuffing in the 3.0 24v and putting everything else back together.
