Are you going with an electric water pump? From what I've read about the craig davies stuff, from various forums (ok forums are sometimes highly questionable), they aren't as good as OEM stuff. I was thinking of the BMW E90 waterpumps. Your DTA can easily control it with one of its PWM outputs. I wonder if a thermostat is necessary at that point, just don't turn on the waterpump until the temp starts climbing.

I've never heard about anyone having problems with the Davies Craig. They are also trying to get into the OEM business and I know what that means in terms of testing and validation. Not an easy task.
As you said, general "forum talk" is not a very good source of info. Maybe they mounted is upside down for instance, there is a condensation drain in the motor... 8)
I already have the pump + controller, it will delete the thermostat. What I've heard from various forums is that usually the pump gets praised on the dyno for being good at keeping a stable temperature.
A garage buddy has one and it works just fine on a highly tuned carb Nord.

Just got a call from my machine shop. The pistons are 0.5mm under size...

So I have waited since October for parts that are wrong. Nex time I'll just order the parts from a european maker and spare me the all the excuses. What a load of shiet this has been. :x

That's really shit. Especially on a such technically advanced project, something as trivial this halts the work... Didn't Woessner make turbo pistons for Nord? OKP? Surely if they make flat plane cranks for monty v8, turbo piston wouldn't be too difficult...

Just as I suspected, they totally ignored my order sheet that described all the alterations I wanted made to the sample piston and just made four identical copies of the sample...
Very nice! If I wanted that done, but I didn't. :|

Guess they are about to recieve a call from a very annoyed customer pretty soon.

Anyone wants an ashtray? I doesn't balance very well but it's shiny... :?

Long weekend due to some stuff that happened ~2000 year ago gave me time to start one of the bigger posts on my todo-list; Updating the cage... :?

Replacing the single pipe in the door with two and adding one rearwards from the main hoop up to the rear wheel well. Still missing is the "Helmet cracker" that goes in in the upper rear corner of the door opening.

Yes, welding was challenging and yes I was incredibly frustrated at times.

Haha we can see finally into your garage! What is the material used as inner panel for the door? Glass or carbon fiber?

The clutch is on hold at the moment (heh), Plan B as of right now. I.e. stock TS engine, prop and clutch. This to be able to drive at all this summer. :x

Trust me, there will be pics of everything in this build. I just don't want to post anything I can't say for sure is going in.

The cage update is ongoing. The reason for not doing an X? Well, I wanted to keep it low in profile to not hit my elbow in it during driving (not kidding here), also to be able to keep it street legal the ingress/egress needs to be fast and simple for safety reasons. That means that a low profile X would drive a very shallow angle and that means a very complicated joint. The cons outweighs the pros by about a gazillion to one IMO -> two parallell bars. Remember, I'm only updating the cage because I have to due to regs. Otherwise I'd still have a single door bar.
