Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's
In the pit area at Z with Dawie sharing a good joke and watching some testing. As mentioned on the page before the car is in really good condition and apart from the wheels it’s so perfectly original so it definitely won’t be modified even though I have new 3.2gta motor ready to bolt in !

Nice! Escaping the UK winter? The brake disks re-drilled to 4x98? The Giulietta is also raced here in the USA.

Motec PDM30... very nice!
It’s on my wish list for what will eventually be a full Re-wire. It will be interesting to see how things like windshield wipers and lights will work when “assigned” full system voltage and current by a PDM.
A friend of mine had his ecu ignition set to remain disabled until he “blinked the high beam three times”- it was his kill switch set up in the PDM
Kevin, I would love the details of the chap over in Perth that you mentioned!
I’ll email you in the next day or so to say hi

Thought I would do “spring clean “ and minor refurb in the engine bay. While radiator was out I had it pressure tested and refurbed. Fans are still in good working order.

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's
Next was seats out and carpet valet. Then I thought I might as well do door panels ( cards) along with new plastic and clean out all the drain holes. Apply done Dinitrol corrosion inhibitor. Seats are totally original (as per the South African Alfa Romeo factory incase anyone was wondering and very comfortable. No tears or wear on these ! I find this pattern quite retro now .. dam I’m getting old !

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's
Does someone sell new door cards?
Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's
No . You just buy 2mm Masonite board and when you put new foam you stop about 10mm from top and bottom so it can slide into grooves with 3mm staples . And done ! Plus electric saw . Never use 3mm Masonite board .. it’s nightmare to fit and generally does not !
SA cars always used this as original with a steel plate for the locking knob to pass through .

In between assembling my late fathers 1600 Junior I have been getting clutch unit rebuilt. The pressure plate and thrust bearing is of very low mileage with virtually no wear on fingers at all . I have cleaned up the the housing with light bead blasting, had new linings on plates done by Norbrake ( they are specialists on the GTV 6 clutches in SA), the slave has a new stainless insert with new seals, and finally the unit balanced . Just need time and a ramp to fit unit

Re: Hello from relocation to UK with my two South African GTV6's
I think the twin plate was a good setup for the track if modified and too many people abandoned it. I remembered when my mom replaced the twin plate setup for the 75's single plate setup back in the late 80's. I'm guessing SA must be one of the few countries where the abundance of GTV6s and lack of 75s saved many cars from throwing the twin plate setup. I think in the US, you can hardly find any GTV6 with the twin plate setup.

Kevin,
Your car is looking good. I love those wheels on it. What are they and where can I get a set? It reckon it will look good on my GTV 2.0
