In order to address this, I have added a customization which allows you to do just this.
On the bottom of the forum index page, you will see these links:
View posts since last visit
View your posts
View last 24 hours posts - 12h - 48h - 72h
View unanswered posts
The "View last 24 hours posts - 12h - 48h - 72h" link is a customization which will mimick what the old board could provide. Note that when you click one of these links and run the search, you can then choose to go to either the Forum in question or directly to the Topic.
I also added a ranking system (the stars on the left). You need 10 posts for the 1st star, 500 for the "Guru" status and the others somewhere in between
