Brake & clutch pipe retaining brackets.

Post by tmundy »

'Brackets' the wrong word really, should be bits of folded metal.

The brake and clutch pipes are held in place on the underneath using metal which is spot welded to the bottom of the car and folded over the pipe. Most of mine have succumed to rust. Not sure how or what to replace these with, here are the options I have come up with:

1: Plug weld new strips in place
2: Screw in place
3: Rivit in place
4: Replace with plastic clips (not sure though what to use for this option).

Anybody had any first hand experience?

I like the "rivet" idea...rivet in new flat retaining ring

a few of these would work..
