Black Bits

Post by tImBoWe »

So I've got all this faded grey plastic bits that will need to go back to thier home on the GTV. What is every one using to tidy up these parts?

I thought of spraying them with black paint. I've tried a back to black solution but it was crap. I really need the bits to be BLACK again.

A dye might be a good option if they are available. Pain will just fade or peel.

I sprayed mine with a black plastic dye and it came out really well. Still needs another coat, but much better than it was.

I think I used the Krylon Fusion brand.

Here's the deal.
Give everything a thorough wash. Let dry. Wipe over with a grease and wax remover solution. Let dry.

Important.

Paint all bits with a PLASTIC PRIMER made especially for the job.

Follow up with colour and paint formulation of your choice.

Bonus. Stops U.V. breakdown of the plastics and will make them last as long as the metal bits.

Yep cheerz guys. I reckon I might do the good job on them. No point in spending the coin on the paint and skimping on the plastics.
