Rear View Mirror Repair Questions

Post by don hodgdon »

Has anyone disassembled a GTV6 power mirror? I'd like to take them apart to refinish them.

Thanks,
don

They are pretty simple, you take the thin plastic edge seal out and then the coloured steel panel unclips and comes out leaving the mirror, frame and workings intact. You have to squeeze the edes of the panel in to unclip it. I think mine were a little stuck, so I pryed them a little with a small screwdriver.

While we're on the subject....
What's the best way of fitting the rear view mirror to the window.
Should I use a special kind of glue?
