Are there any tricks to removing the rear triangular trim pieces on the GTV6? I've tried reaching up from below the rear deck but can't get in there. Am I missing anything? Thanks!

You will need a lot of patience and you will most likely need to remove a lot of the interior trunk lining. Make sure you do not lose the socket. Mine's still somewhere inside there.

Haha, I've already managed to drop two sockets in there. One of them I was able to get out, but I haven't found the other yet.

Does the trunk "deck" (the carpeted panels that are blocking the way) come out?

If you are talking about the external pieces, I think you need a 6mm? or an 8mm? box wrench. There are three nuts w/washers and they take a while to get out...

Don't overtighten them when re-installing...

It does but I can not remember how. I will soon be putting it back together and will post my findings.

If you mean the perforated interior trim pieces, you have to remove the rear deck carpeted pieces (which means drilling out the rivets)

To get your tools out, use a small magnet on a telescoping rod..

I thought there was some rivets involved. I have tried (not very hard) but have not had success thus far with the magnet.

Thanks for the tip! We'll find out if it works tomorrow when I get a chance to try.

The rivets are right along the trunk space opening where the main rear deck lid rests when down.
